KHS Art students take first place at Children's Festival of the Arts

On Saturday, Nov. 4, Kofa High School’s Art program placed first place in the High School Division at the Annual Children’s Festival of the Arts.

“I feel any success comes with planning, vision and hard work,” Kofa Art teacher Amy Seeley said. “I am so fortunate to have students who are so naturally talented. I give them the tools, but they are the ones with the imagination.”

According the Yuma Visitor’s Information Center, the Children’s Festival of the Arts is a fun, free, hands-on art experience for the whole family including entertainment, music, and demonstrations by local artists. An exhibition of outstanding youth artwork was on display at the Yuma Art Center with entries from many local schools, including all local high schools.
