Gila Ridge students complete Job Skills Workshop
Gila Ridge High School students enrolled in Academic Instruction classes had a unique opportunity during the final weeks of the first semester of the 2019-20 school year.
Courtesy of Elite Community Services, 85 students participated in a three-day workshop on job skills training. This workshop covered resume building, filling out job applications, and interview skills taught by representatives from the organization.
“This was truly a positive experience for all of the students involved,” said GRHS Academic Instruction teacher Eva Gilbert. “Preparing the students with not only academic support but also job skills they can use the rest of their lives is an asset to have.”
Students received a certificate at the end of the workshop that they can use on their resumes when applying for jobs.
