Cibola counselor attends US Naval Academy Counselor Program

Cibola High School counselor Teresa Davis attended the Naval Academy Counselor program in Annapolis, Maryland from Nov. 3-6, 2019.

“Visiting the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis was the opportunity of a lifetime,” Davis said.  “I was awe-inspired by the midshipman, faculty, and the institution. I will share the experience with students and tell them how much the U.S. Naval Academy has to offer.”

According to their website, each year, the U.S. Naval Academy hosts educators, community leaders, counselors, and others in positions of responsibility who interact with our nation's best and brightest middle and high school students for a four-day, three-night visit to Annapolis. These visits are offered at no cost to the educator and are designed to showcase the opportunities available for students at USNA.

USNA seeks to engage leaders who influence highly-qualified students from across the nation. Conference attendees gain first-hand experience in regards to:

  • The admissions process
  • All aspects of the exceptional undergraduate education opportunities offered at the U.S. Naval Academy
  • Academic, athletic, and residential facilities
  • Meeting midshipmen, faculty, and staff
  • The career options available as an officer in the Navy or Marine Corps

Cibola Class of 2015 graduate Jocelyn Rodriguez graduated from the Naval Academy in May 2019. She is one of a handful of CHS alumni who have attended the Academy after high school.
